+ 2 - 2 | § Empty nest

I came home the other day and noticed that there was a lot of fluffy nest material on the ground below the bird's nest. Not sure what happened, but for the next 3 days I kept careful watch, and momma bird never came back. I think my mistake was putting some bird seed up in the the framework of the awning where they could get to it. This might have attracted other birds, and a nest robber type bird might have destroyed part of their nest and scared them off.

I will leave the nest up there for a few more weeks, and I put some of the material that fell back up there in easy reach, but my gut feel is that momma bird has flown the coop. I used the camera to get a look inside the nest, and it was empty. At least eggs did not get left behind. Maybe momma bird just did not get pregnant, and they had no need for the nest after they built it. Seems far fetched because why would her and poppa bird build it in the first place?

I am back to using the back door to hang out and read. I really did not like sitting out front reading. Too many distractions and people would stare at me. hahaha
